Station 28 battles Hurricane Irene

pVolunteers from station 28 worked tirelessly around the clock preparing for the anticipated devastating effects of Hurricane Irene. Leaving families and loved ones at home volunteer firefighters stayed overnight and into the day in order to staff the trucks as needed.ppAs with most other companies in the township and county station 28 responded to several storm related calls throughout the night and into the day. Units responded to several reports of electrical related fires as well as reports of downed trees into homes and malfunctioning fire alarms after the storm.ppFirefighters from station 28 operate as the FAST Team Firefighter Assist amp Search Team in the photo shown on the 200 block of Lancaster Avenue while companies 25 and 26 work to bring a transformer fire under control. ppnbspp
