Last Monday, 28 personnel conducted a company level drill at an acquired structure on the 1800 block of Montgomery Ave (Station 23’s Local). Topics of instruction included: garden apartment lines, aerial operations, interior fire attack and primary search in a dormitory occupancy, horizontal and vertical ventilation, salvage, and overhaul. Crews gained hands-on training and experience that prove invaluable on the fireground.
This opportunity would not have been possible without the Lower Merion Fire Department Office and specifically, the Lower Merion School District for donating the building before demolition.
A special thanks to the Belmont Hills Fire Company (Station 22) and Narberth Fire Company (Station 26) for covering our district while our members trained.
